Brittany
Rehrig
Name (and nickname)- Brittany, Britt, B-Rig
Hometown- Wilmington, DE
Major-
Elementary Education
Favorite Event- My favorite would be the 50 free, but my best is the 100 breast.
Favorite Practice- Any that involve a get-out swim
Best Team Memory: Freshman year in Cocoa Beach when we treated ourselves to
McDonalds.. then Taco Bell.. then Dairy Queen (all within a half hour.) After
swimming 12 x 1000s, there was no shame - just happy girls.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years- Hopefully teaching and
coaching and being a beach bum in the summer. Maybe married with kids, but that
could be a stretch at this point.
Advice to the team- Stay positive, even on days when you question why you still swim.
It is worth it to look back and realize all that you have accomplished. Don't
let big meets work you up. Just think back on all of the hard sets that you
never thought you would be able to finish. If you tell yourself you will swim
fast, you will. Don't sweat the small stuff. Never take your teammates for
granted because they will be the best friends you will ever have. Four years
will fly by, so soak it all up while you can. I will miss you girls so much.
Thanks for becoming my family and for staying by my side through it all! Don't
forget: when you are faced with a tough decision, YOLO.
