This Weekend at Kutztown

This weekend at the Kutztown Meet we will be joining forces with the KU women’s team to help raise awareness/funds for Pancreatic Cancer Research.  A voluntary collection will be taken with 100% of the proceeds being donated to the American Cancer Society in the name Amanda Terray’s Father & Zoe Sianis’s (a KU swimmer) Mother.

We will also be wearing a special cap for the occasion!

If you are planning to attend the meet please wear one of our 2 special shirts (purple one from last year & the black and purple one from this year) … if you don’t have one let me know, we have a few shirts (limited sizes) left over from this year’s sale … or just wear something purple!

SR Meet Recap

Took a few days to get the full results online...but click HERE to view full results.

With the Juniata college Roster a little light with numbers we were able to fill in some empty lanes and give 3 swims to everyone!  Special congrats to Britt Rehrig for breaking the 400 IM pool record and to the 800 free relay (campbell, durham, terray, rehrig) for establishing a new pool record.

Great day for our 3 seniors swimming in their last LHU home meet!  Very proud of them!

Saturday

After a tough Saturday morning workout the team was surprised with an afternoon off ... Safe to say the women were happy about some quality time @ the resort.
There were slide races ... with Adam being the overall champ with a 12.31. Kasey had a respectable 13.38.
Below are the best times for the rest of the participants.
Gardner - 13.90
Wilbur - 14.54
Williams - 15.89
Terray - 14.00
Kinard - 14.97
Faulstick - 19.08
Berri - 22.62
Daversa - 16.65
Conklin - 18.24

For dinner I treated Stoner and Wilbur to a Da Kine (delish) burrito while the team had their annual team only dinner/secret santa exchange.

"Florida's Best Mexican Food" ... hardly

To and from the resort we pass a little restaurant that proudly displays a sign saying they have "Florida's Best Mexican Food" well as I consider myself an "expert" in fine mexican cuisine and if that is the best Florida has to offer then I must say I'm disappointed.

(The white dew slurpee for dessert kinda made up for it)

Relay Meet

We had a lot of fun swimming with Mt Union tonight. The order of events consisted of a 400 medley relay (8 x 50), 300 fly relay (6 x 50), 300 back relay (6 x 50), 300 breast (6 x 50) 600 indiv I'm, and the monster relay (everyone swims a 50 free) ... With the monster relay coming down to the final stroke.

Event concluded with a group cheer!

We proceeded to the mall for some cold stone ("LOVE IT"). Chik-filet also enjoyed a surge of business.

Tonights a big night for TV.

Back in the Blog Business

Looks like the alternate email account to post did the trick.

Here is a recap of what we did last night at practice.

A great ab/core dryland followed by a main set of 50 X 50. All choice with the following ones being all out.

10
18,20
26,28,30
34,36,38,40
42,44,46,48,50

For dinner we made several runs "out" taco bell seemed to be the popular choice, along with subway and some major Nug action at McDonalds.

Woke up to some rain puttin a damper on our planned morning dryland but we are still planning on swimming this morning ... With a bit of a suprise for them this afternoon!

Day 2

We had a really great workout this morning, a good mix of longer yards with some fast swims broken up with a decent kick set.  Finished practice with a few sprint 50's fly from the block ... for no other reason than to finish up the workout strong (not as a punishment contrary to popular belief)

The sun is bright and shiny today with a few clouds in the sky, looks like we may get a little rain tonight into tomorrow, so the team is soaking it all in ... my guess is we will start making a few field trips tomorrow.

Looking forward to another great workout this afternoon!!

End of Day 1

I am pretty happy with how the first day of practice went ... we lucked out by having all 8 lanes to train in (this isn't the case for the rest of the week) so we enjoyed 3 or 4 to a lane, and a few special lanes of 1 or 2.

Did some long swimming for some (9 x 400im's) and some sprints with others (10 x 50's / 5 x 100's / 3 x 200 twice).  Really looking forward to some more great swimming tomorrow!!  I will do a better job of posting some pictures!
