Lock Haven Summer Concert Series

Our latest ThrowBack Thursday featured community programs that Lock Haven University Athletics participated in during the 2012-2013 academic year. Lock Haven has a great community that we as an LHU Athletics family are proud to serve.

Summer months can sometimes be slow in a small college town, but luckily for the community and students that are in town for the summer sessions, every Sunday in the summertime the city provides a 100% free concert to anyone that is interested at the J. Doyle Corman Amphitheater in downtown Lock Haven. Hundreds of people come by land and by water to enjoy!

A tight knit local community is just another reason why The Haven is a great place to be. Thank you very much to the City of Lock Haven and its entire community!

Throwback Thursday--Haven Nation Out in the Community!

This week's Throw Back Thursday comes from work done from our team out of the water in the 2012-2013 season. Both activities were participated in by all sports at Lock Haven, really showing unity and pride in Haven Nation!

Haven Holiday Parade!--December 5th 2012

On Saturday our team participated in the Lock Haven Annual Holiday Parade. This was a cool event that essentially the whole community came out to.

This University is a huge part of the Lock Haven community, and it was excellent to see the unified group of LHU athletics marching holding the Lock Haven banner. As someone who has grown up in this community, I am so pleased to see our women be part of it. We have a great group of athletes here at LHU, and Saturday was just another fine example of that. I could not be more proud to be here in “The Haven”!

ThrowBack of the Week--Amanda Terray at NCAAs

This week’s Throw Back is of LHU’s very first trip to the NCAA meet, featuring former swimmer Amanda Terray!

On this trip, which can be viewed in its entirety HERE, Terray enjoyed some very fast swims at the University of Missouri that brought Haven Swimming to the national stage for the first time!

On her way to several lifetime bests, this meet was highlighted with a 3rd place finish in the 200 Backstroke—with a school record that still stands at 2:01.95.  She also placed 6th in the 100 Backstroke (57.11, a school record at the time that Amanda lowered 2 years later in Canton Ohio…more on that later!), leaving Columbia Missouri a freshmen 2 time All American...Haven Swimming’s first.

PSAC SummerSTATaday

The PSAC office has been fighting the heat (and until recently, the rain) with a cool concept for the summertime….”SummerSTATaday”. Each day they are posting a stat from throughout the conference in one of their many offered sports. Great idea, and we’re honored to have a selection from the Haven Swimming program! Thank you PSAC office!

Their entry is as follows…it can be viewed HERE.

Tuesday 7/16: Rehrig, 7x All-American
Senior Brittany Rehrig of the Lock Haven University swim team capped off a brilliant career, which leaves her as one of Lock Haven's most all-time decorated swimmers. Rehrig became a seven-time All-American at the 2013 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships when she placed eighth overall in the 100-yard breaststroke. She was second in the same event at the 2013 PSAC Championships. The standout-Lady Eagle competed in three different events at this year's NCAA Championships and won the 100-breaststroke at the always-strong IUP John A. Pidgeon Memorial Invitational in mid-November. Along with being a two-time PSAC Top Ten award winner, Rehrig is a seven-time All-American, a three-time Academic All-American and she holds nine school records.
